Maxine Henry and Sally Cowling are the Co-Founders of Beyond Partners, a business built on the strongest foundations – shared values. Our journey together started in the corporate world where we realised the power of HR and Marketing joining forces. We wanted to share our passion and experience with ambitious business leaders, helping them to maximise the impact of their people and their brand. And so, in September 2020, Beyond Partners was created.
We’re on a mission to help businesses achieve more through their people and their brand. And just as the two of us perform better as a partnership, we know that the magic happens with joined-up HR and Marketing strategies. Because, after all, aren’t your people and your brand your two biggest assets? We think so.
Maxine is a lifelong HR professional, with experience that can only be gained from working in a variety of big-name corporates, such as Partnerize, Tarmac, OGN Group and NCFE over the past 18 years. From creating culture change programmes to managing large-scale redundancy programmes, if it’s people related – you name it, she’s done it. She’s committed to creating better places for people to work and develops people strategies aligned to the business goals. But above all, it’s Maxine’s approach to her work which really stands out, her empathetic and emotionally intelligent manner drawing out the best in others.
Maxine has been a School Governor for over 3 years and to fuel her appetite for learning, has recently started a Level 7 course in Coaching and Mentoring.
Outside of work, Maxine is kept busy by her 2 young boys and husband and when she gets a minute to herself enjoys reading and has recently taken up yoga.
Sally on Maxine
Maxine brings a unique energy and positivity to any project. Her passion and belief that the people are key to business success shines through in everything she does. And this, coupled with her deep understanding of people and their behaviours is invaluable in bringing new people ideas and approaches to the leadership teams we work with.
Sally’s strengths lie in seeing the bigger picture and developing and executing marketing strategies. With her straightforward approach, she’s a huge believer in keeping things simple.
Sally is also passionate about giving her time, energy and experience to other causes and has been a Board Trustee for the North of England Children’s Cancer Research Fund for over 10 years. She has also recently joined the mentoring programme, The Girls’ Network, which supports teenage girls from the least advantaged backgrounds.
Free time is spent with her two teenage children and partner and she loves a walk on the beaches of the Northumberland coast, followed, of course, by a drink in the pub.
Maxine on Sally
‘Genuine expert’ is the phrase that comes to mind when I think about Sally. Her approach to work is refreshing, dynamic and original. She is able to adapt to any situation and environment with ease. She was a joy to work with at Elfab and she is a joy to work with now.
